WHO WE ARE
Daar Al-Wafa Association Australia (DAWAA) is a non-profit organisation that provides education, support, advocacy and connection for diverse communities in Sydney. The name Daar Al-Wafa is an Arabic phrase, and literally translates to 'home of loyalty'. True to our name, Daar Al-Wafa is built upon a vision of creating a warm and welcoming abode, and our service is provided with sincerity, inclusion and commitment to community. We recognise that some communities require more support than others, and we have tailored our programs in response to the needs of the culturally and linguistically diverse communities of Sydney.

WHY DAAR AL-WAFA
We see you
Almost 1 in 3 people in Sydney are culturally and linguistically diverse. That is a sizable portion of the population that may require a helping hand to feel supported and connected to their local community.
It’s good for the community
By offering support, we are assisting in the creation of connected, productive and inclusive communities for all people.
Something for everyone
DAWAA recognises that the community is diverse in age, language, culture, and need. We notice and celebrate your strengths, but we also notice the things you may need in order to be better equipped and resourced to be a thriving, confident member of your local community. DAWAA provides a catalogue of different programs to service those needs.
Our aims and objectives
At DAWAA, our aim is to empower culturally and linguistically diverse families and communities in Sydney, to enable them to reach their potential. We do this by:

-
providing educational opportunities to families and children
-
encouraging bilingualism/multilingualism by teaching classical and conversational Arabic to children
-
facilitating access to appropriate services, and decrease social isolation to newly arrived families
-
providing advocacy services for vulnerable families, and connecting them to services relevant to their needs
-
providing support and connection for older people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
